StayHawk runs a forwarding inbox at inbox@stayhawk.app. Forward a hotel confirmation and the backend parses the email, extracts dates, price, currency, and the cancellation deadline, then populates your dashboard. There is no scraping and no Playwright — we only read the email the platform already sent you.

Free covers hotels; Pro covers transport and activities. Both tiers use the same inbox. If your booking platform never emails a confirmation, we cannot extract it — but you can still add the booking manually and get the same alerts.

There is no scraping and no Playwright — we parse the email that the platform already sent you. The whole flow is usually under two minutes from forward to dashboard, and we flag any field where extraction confidence was low so you can correct it before alerts fire.

Yes — the hotel confirmation email parser is free for hotels. Free covers hotels; Pro covers transport and activities. You can forward unlimited hotel confirmations on the Free plan and we will extract dates, prices, and cancellation deadlines. Flights, trains, car rentals, and activities require Pro because those parsers are more expensive to run and the deadline logic is more involved (fare classes, change-fee tiers, refund windows). There is no per-extraction fee on either tier.
Forwarded emails land in an AWS S3 bucket, a Lambda function parses them, and the extracted booking details are written to DynamoDB. The raw email stays in S3 with a retention policy so we can re-run extraction if a parser improves. We do not sell or share your email data with third parties, and we do not use the contents for advertising. You can request deletion of your account at any time, which removes the booking records and queues the underlying emails for purge. Full details are on our /privacy page.
If your platform isn't supported, you have two options. First, forward the email anyway — the parser may still extract enough to populate the booking, even if the platform isn't on our official list. We flag low-confidence extractions so you can review them. Second, if extraction fails or the platform doesn't email confirmations at all, you can add the booking manually from the dashboard with the same fields (hotel, dates, price, deadline). Manual bookings get the same alerts and deadline tracking.
Yes. The simplest path is the linked email setup: in Settings → Linked Emails, add your everyday inbox (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Fastmail, etc.). We send a verification code; once you confirm, you can set up an auto-forward rule in your mail client for the booking platforms you use — Booking.com confirmations, Expedia receipts, airline tickets on Pro — and they land in StayHawk automatically. You can also just forward emails by hand one at a time without setting anything up.
The forward hotel email tracker reads emails you forward — it does not log into your accounts, doesn't run a headless browser, and doesn't scrape booking platforms. There is no scraping and no Playwright behind StayHawk. Scraping tools log into Booking.com, Expedia, or your airline account on your behalf, which puts your credentials at risk and violates the terms of service of most travel platforms. Email parsing only sees what was already in your inbox, so the privacy and ToS footprint is much smaller.
Parsing depends on the email format — we aim for confidence but flag low-confidence extractions for review. English and French confirmations are well-covered today. Other major European languages (German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch) usually parse correctly because the platforms send structured templates, but the cancellation deadline clause is the field most likely to come back low-confidence. If extraction is weak, you'll see a yellow flag on the booking; tap it to enter the deadline yourself, and alerts will fire on the corrected date.
