Getting started

StayHawk is a post-booking portfolio manager. You forward your hotel confirmation emails, and StayHawk tracks cancellation deadlines and checks for price drops on your stays. If something changes, you get an alert. You decide what to do.

  1. Sign up at stayhawk.app. No credit card required.
  2. You get a personal forwarding address, something like yours@inbox.stayhawk.app.
  3. Forward a hotel confirmation email to that address.
  4. Your booking appears on your dashboard within minutes.

That’s the whole setup. No app to install, no browser extension, no accounts to connect.

After signing in, go to your dashboard. Your forwarding address is displayed at the top of the page. Copy it and save it as a contact so it’s easy to forward to.

Any. Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, Apple Mail, ProtonMail — if you can forward an email, it works with StayHawk.

Your bookings

When you forward a confirmation email, StayHawk parses it automatically. It pulls out the hotel name, check-in and check-out dates, the rate you paid, and the cancellation deadline. If the automated parser can’t extract everything, a secondary extraction layer fills in the gaps. No human reads your emails.

Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Marriott, Hilton, and Airbnb. If your confirmation email has the booking details in it, StayHawk can usually extract them regardless of the platform.

Airbnb bookings are tracked for cancellation deadlines, but price monitoring is not available for Airbnb stays. Your dashboard will show a badge recommending manual price checks for those bookings.

Yes. On your dashboard, use the “Add Booking” form to enter the hotel name, dates, rate, and cancellation deadline yourself. This is useful for bookings confirmed by phone or through a travel agent.

All your upcoming bookings in one place, sorted by what needs attention first. Bookings with approaching cancellation deadlines appear at the top. Bookings with price drop opportunities come next. Everything else follows.

Bookings are kept on your dashboard until after check-out, then they move to your history. They count toward your plan’s booking limit until they expire.

Cancellation deadline alerts

StayHawk tracks the cancellation deadline for each booking. You get reminders before the window closes — at 7 days, 3 days, and 24 hours before the deadline. Alerts are sent to the email address you signed up with.

StayHawk still tracks it on your dashboard, but it won’t send deadline alerts for non-refundable bookings since there’s no cancellation window to act on.

Yes. In Settings, you can set your notification frequency to Immediate, Daily digest, or Weekly digest. Immediate sends each alert as it happens. Daily and Weekly bundle them together.

Price monitoring

StayHawk checks hotel prices using Google Hotels data. When a lower refundable rate appears on the same property for the same dates, you get an alert with a link to rebook at the new price.

Price monitoring is available on Pro and Agency plans.

Prices are checked daily. Coverage and timing depend on third-party data availability — some hotels update more frequently than others.

No. StayHawk alerts you and gives you a direct link to rebook. You make the decision. We don’t make changes to your bookings.

Nothing happens. The alert is informational. Your existing booking stays as-is.

  • Free plan: Price monitoring is a Pro feature. Free accounts get deadline alerts only.
  • Airbnb booking: Price monitoring isn’t available for Airbnb stays.
  • No lower rate found: StayHawk only alerts you when a cheaper refundable rate is available. If the price hasn’t dropped, there’s nothing to report.
  • Hotel not on Google Hotels: If the property doesn’t appear in Google Hotels data, StayHawk can’t track its price.

Account and billing

Free — 5 bookings, cancellation deadline alerts, email parsing, dashboard. No credit card required.

Pro ($9/month or $79/year) — 30 bookings, everything in Free, plus price monitoring, price drop alerts, and rebook links.

Agency ($49/month or $468/year) — 500 bookings, everything in Pro, plus 5 team seats, client labels, and role-based access. (Agency features are coming soon.)

Yes. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime from Settings.

You’ll see a prompt to upgrade. Your existing bookings continue to be tracked — nothing gets deleted. You just can’t add new ones until you upgrade or old bookings expire.

No. Sign up with your email and start tracking up to 5 bookings right away.

You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No prorated charges. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan.

Go to Settings > Billing. From there you can update your payment method, view invoices, or cancel your subscription.

Troubleshooting

Wait a few minutes — parsing usually takes under 5 minutes. If it still doesn’t show up:

  • Check the forwarding address. Make sure you sent it to your @inbox.stayhawk.app address, not a typo.
  • Check the email format. StayHawk works best with the original confirmation email from the booking platform. Forwarding a screenshot or a manually typed summary won’t work.
  • Unsupported platform. If the booking platform isn’t one we currently support, the parser may not extract the details. Try adding the booking manually from your dashboard.

If StayHawk pulled the wrong dates, price, or hotel name from your email, you can edit the booking details directly on your dashboard. Tap the booking to open it, then correct whatever’s off.

  • Check your spam folder. Alerts come from StayHawk via email — some providers filter them initially.
  • Check your notification settings. In Settings, make sure notifications aren’t set to a frequency you’re not expecting (e.g., Weekly when you want Immediate).
  • Check your plan. Price drop alerts require a Pro or Agency plan. Free accounts only get deadline alerts.

If you accidentally forwarded an email that isn’t a booking confirmation, you can delete the resulting booking from your dashboard. Open the booking and use the delete option.

Frequently asked questions

You forward your hotel confirmation email to your personal StayHawk inbox. We parse it automatically. We don’t access your email account.

Your data is stored on AWS infrastructure. We use it to provide deadline alerts and price monitoring. We don’t sell your data. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

For deadline tracking, any booking with a confirmation email works. For price monitoring, the hotel needs to appear in Google Hotels data, which covers most major hotel chains and many independent properties.

Yes. Your personal workspace tracks your own bookings. If you manage bookings for clients, Agency plans support team workspaces with role-based access. (Agency features are coming soon.)

Forward each confirmation email separately. If one email covers multiple rooms, StayHawk treats it as a single booking. You can add additional rooms manually if needed.

Yes. 5 bookings with cancellation deadline tracking. No credit card, no trial period.

Contact us at support@stayhawk.app and we’ll process your request. We’ll delete your booking data in accordance with our data retention policy.
